Senior Process Engineer

At BOLD, we design and build the next generation of high-performance battery systems for the world’s most demanding industries — from Formula 1 and hypercars to aerospace, marine and defense. Our mission: to deliver energy systems where every millisecond and every degree matter.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, optimizing and industrializing battery manufacturing processes to ensure robust, scalable and high-quality production. You will be responsible for driving process improvements, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges and leading the implementation of new technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Equipment and Supply Chain to ensure process capability, operational excellence, and successful product launches.

What You’ll Do

Industrialisation & Production Lines

  • Define the technical concept of battery pack production lines, from prototype builds to niche-volume production.
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for assembly, welding, and end-of-line (EOL) testing.
  • Ensure production solutions meet quality, safety, scalability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Support the definition of plant layouts, production flows, and manufacturing concepts.
  • Provide technical support during equipment commissioning, process validation, and production ramp-up.

Engineering & Product Design Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure product designs are optimised for manufacturability.
  • Recommend design improvements to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Align product requirements with manufacturing capabilities and process constraints.
  • Support the definition of fixtures, tooling, and material handling solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate industrialisation risks during the early stages of product development.

Supplier & Automation Management
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers and automation integrators throughout project execution.
  • Define technical requirements and specifications for manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  • Provide technical support during equipment manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and validation.
  • Ensure the successful integration of automated and semi-automated production systems.
  • Review and validate technical solutions from both manufacturing and quality perspectives.

Quality, Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable quality standards, including IATF 16949 or equivalent.
  • Support the implementation of quality control, traceability, and process monitoring systems.
  • Contribute to the definition of control plans, process validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing and process-related technical issues to support stable production.
